Cape Hillsborough Nature Resort

<Kian>
Cape Hillsborough is on the beach but also tucked right into the mountains.

The mountains and bush come right down onto the beach.

There are lots of trees in and around the resort.

My favourite thing here is all the wildlife.
At night the nocturnal animals come out to play and feed.
These possums came to eat fruit at our campsite.

There is a local kangaroo here called Bridget.  She hangs around the caravan park basking in the sun.

There are lots of kookaburras & butterflies and even a few brush turkeys.

We woke up really early to see wallabies on the beach at sunrise.  It was still dark.

The wallabies go there to eat the mangrove seeds that have been washed up on the shore from all the mangroves that are just around the corner from this bay.
These are the mangrove seeds.

The beach looked great, but unfortunately we couldn't swim because this is crocodile country and they could come to the beach.  Luckily the caravan park had a pool!

We also had fun riding out scooters and bikes around looking for the wildlife.
