Long Drive to Longreach

<Zeke>
From Cania Gorge it was a long long long drive to Longreach (832km).

Longreach is right in the middle of outback Queensland

We stopped at Emerald for a kick of the footy.

They had a HUGE painting of sunflowers.  It is 25m tall!

Emerald is a mining town and we passed some trucks carrying BIG mining equipment.  They were 6.5m wide, which takes a lot of the road.

We stayed overnight at a small town called Alpha.  The town has paintings on lots of the town walls.  These paintings are called murals and they show live in the country in the olden days.

There were lots of brown falcons in Alpha and on the road to the outback.

These were our first view of Longreach.
A 747-200.

I was so excited - Mum said I was jumping out of my skin!
