Cairns..Duck Tour

<Kian>
Today we went on an amphibious truck called an army DUKW (said Duck).

We drove through the rainforest on very steep tracks and saw lots of plants

As well as normal rainforest plants, we saw two very dangerous plants:

1)    Australian stinging tree – it kills all your nerve endings if you touch it and feels similar to a jellyfish sting.

2)    Hairy Mary  (below)– has very sharp thorns and is one of the longest bamboo type vines in the Australian rainforest (it is similar to a plant called wait-a-while).

I also saw a spider as big as my hand!
We saw some arboreal termite nests – arboreal means in the trees.

After our rainforest drive, we just drove into a river in the DUKW.  The boat engine was then turned on.
Driving in and out of the water was so cool.
